CBI Belongs to All of Us!

Every year, Congregation Beth Israel hosts more than 100 terrific free programs and events, not the least of which are our legendary Purim schpiel – if you missed it this year, you missed a whale of a tale – and our MLK Jr. service and celebration, as well as a broad array of Adult Education classes. We are truly fortunate to have you as a member of CBl. Imagine how great we would all feel if everyone who wanted to join felt they could afford to do so! And then imagine how wonderful it would be if we had the funds to fully implement all the terrific programs our talented and capable staff wishes to offer to everyone – throughout the year. Well, guess what? YOU can make that happen.
CBI belongs to all of us! By making a tax deductible gift to the Every Family Initiative (EFI) campaign, you help fill the funding gap so that CBI can continue to do what it has so successfully done for more than 150 years: provide meaningful Jewish experiences that nurture Jewish lives, create Jewish memories, and build a strong Jewish community.
A congregant recently said to me, “I consider membership a privilege – a privilege with a cost.” I have thought about that statement a lot. Belonging to a congregation is an opportunity – an opportunity to connect with a community of caring individuals, as well as a community that shares a spiritual bond. It is from that idea that I turn to all our members and remind you that rather than thinking, “I belong to CBI,” you should recognize that CBI belongs to you. The EFI campaign was started with that in mind.
At CBI, we strive to recognize the generosity of our supporters while keeping anonymous those who need extra help in these challenging times. We truly appreciate the kindness of each donor while honoring the dignity of the recipients of those donations, so that together we can enjoy all that CBI has to offer.
