Upcoming Events

Annual WRJ/Beth Israel Sisterhood Shabbat & YES Fund Dinner

cantor_bwJoin Beth Israel Sisterhood for our Annual Sisterhood Shabbat on February 17, 2012  at 6:00 pm in Pollin Chapel.  This year we will be honoring Cantor Judith Blanc Schiff for her longstanding support and service to Sisterhood.   Rabbi Rose will be the guest speaker.  Immediately following the service, we will have a special Shabbat dinner, featuring music and stories befitting the evening.  Tickets are $36, with a portion of the price going to Mazon, the Jewish response to hunger, and to the WRJ YES Fund.  The YES Fund supports youth, education, and special projects world-wide.

The YES Fund was developed to support the ideals of Reform Judaism and to ensure its future.  This special Fund supports our youth in NFTY and other youth programs; our rabbinic and cantorial students with scholarships; camps in the former Soviet Union; programming in Israel for mothers and daughters to learn about Judaism; pre-school programs in eastern Europe; materials and resources for local sisterhoods; support for HUC-JIR's student Pesach program to bring Pesach to the FSU; advancement of equal rights for women in Israel, and much more.
