Are you looking to fill up your summer reading list?
Get started on When They Come for Us We'll Be Gone: The Epic Struggle to Save Soviet Jewry by Gal Beckerman. This will be our first selection in the fall.
Check back later in the summer for fall Book Group dates.
The Temple Book Group meets monthly at CBI from September through May, Sundays at 9:30 am in the Shirley & Herbert Semler Board Room. If you like to read and talk (and eat!) you’ll like it! New members and visitors are always welcome. Morning snacks and coffee provided. (You needn’t have read the entire book to attend.)
Oklahoma Tornado Relief Funds
The Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) is accepting donations in the wake of the deadly tornado in Oklahoma. The URJ is working closely with congregations in the affected region to assure the safety of their congregants, their neighbors, their structures and to determine next steps in relief work.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Portland and their national organization, Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA), are teaming up to raise funds in support of those effected by the devastating tornado that tore through the Oklahoma City area, killing and injuring many people and leaving a wide path of destruction.
