Our Preschool introduces young children to Jewish holidays, rituals and the Hebrew language in an age-appropriate setting. Small class size allows teachers to pay special attention to each child's physical skills, self-expression, socialization, cognitive learning and emotional well-being. The richly stimulating educational program includes celebration of Shabbat and all major Jewish holidays, cooking, art projects, field trips, storytelling, movement activities, singing with the Cantor and the Rabbi and visits from special guests from the community. A playground on the premises is reserved just for preschoolers.
The Preschool is open to non-members, but Congregation members receive enrollment priority. Preschool funding comes largely from tuition and the Temple Endowment.

“When you teach your child, you teach your child’s children.” ~ The Talmud, Kiddusin 30a
Our teachers are dedicated, professionally trained and experienced in the field of Early Childhood Education. They are empathetic, caring and committed to helping children make sense of the world around them. Classes are small with a low student/teacher ratio, allowing our teachers to pay special attention to each child’s physical skills, self-expression, socialization, cognitive learning and emotional well-being. We place an emphasis on the whole child and respect that different children learn in different ways.
Each classroom is an active learning environment that presents positive opportunities for hands-on experience in language arts, math, science, art, music and movement. Children’s perspectives are further broadened with engaging field trips. We also offer after-school enrichment programs such as Afternoon Art Classes, Movement, Rhythm & Ruach Drumming, and Tots & Tunes.
Parents as Partners
The relationship between child, teacher and family is the foundation for positive learning. Parent involvement is encouraged in all facets of the school. Our families help assist with special activities and events working in partnership with the staff to ensure a successful early childhood educational experience. Welcoming a New Generationto the Joys of Judaism Tot Shabbat Services are geared toward preschool-aged children and their families and are held the first Saturday of each month. This engaging, interactive service is led by our Clergy and song leader and is followed by a thematic craft project and Oneg (refreshments). The Tot Shabbats are a great time for families with young children to meet each other in a relaxed, positive Jewish environment.
