Book of Remembrance

On Yom Kippur, we recite the Yizkor (Memorial) Prayers, and our minds and hearts turn to the sacred memory of departed loved on­­­es.  To render these moments more intimate and meaningful, it is Congregation Beth Israel’s longstanding custom to distribute our Book of Remembrance, in which we list the names of our deceased. This book includes prayers and meditations selected by our clergy and a special page memorializing those members of our congregational family who have died since last Yom Kippur. We also list the names and remembrances of those who choose to donate to CBI in honor of their departed loved ones.
