As the eight nights of Chanukah approach, we are so grateful for the brightness our community brings to one another throughout the year, and for opportunities to connect, celebrate, and shine together.
Our CBI calendar is full of opportunities to sparkle, sizzle, and otherwise enjoy the holiday, all of which are detailed below.
Religious School Chanukah Fair

CBI’s Lower Elementary (pre-k through second grade) students will spend their Sunday exploring different stations for hands on Chanukah learning and fun! Author Barbara Brown will be on campus to share her picture book, Hanukkah In Alaska, copies of which you can order now!

Start the holiday with a sizzle at Brotherhood’s annual cookoff and tasting. Or, if you think you have what it takes to be CBI’s top latke chef, sign up to compete!
Rabbi Joseph’s Chanukah Open House
Monday, December 15, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
While there are plenty of communities who rehash the annual applesauce versus sour cream debate, we at CBI know: the best way to enjoy latkes is with poke at Rabbi Joseph’s open house!

WRJ/Beth Israel Sisterhood White Elephant Chanukah Party
Thursday, December 18, 7:00 PM
Bring a gift ($15-$30 value), steal a gift (from fellow party goers) and head home smiling from Sisterhood’s White Elephant Party. Bring your own Chanukiah too, and we’ll light the candles together! Sisterhood Social action will will be collecting women’s and men’s underwear and towels for Transition Project, so bring donations as well!
Chanukah Family Shabbat Celebration

You won’t be able to stop smiling at our Chanukah Family Shabbat, complete with music, a light show and inflatables, latkes, and games. Bring your family’s chanukiah for a CBI-wide candle lighting.
