See You at CBI!

Whether you are a CBI member who visits us weekly or are setting foot on our historic campus for the first time, welcome!

Shabbat Services and Holiday Observances

Our Shabbat Evening and Morning Services, held at 6:00 PM on Fridays and 10:30 AM on Saturdays, are open to any who wish to join us, as are all of our holiday observances, speaker series, concerts, and other programs.

Please see our calendar for full event listings and locations.

If you are new to CBI and wish to join us for the High Holidays, we look forward to welcoming a sweet new year with you. Please take a moment to register as our guest.

Office Hours

The CBI Main Office is staffed from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Tuesday-Friday, and our office is operational, but remote, on Mondays. We are happy to connect with you for in-person meetings—and to open our pop-up Judaica gift shop—by appointment. Please call us at 503-222-1069 if you would like to arrange a meeting; we are also available via email.

In case of emergency, such as congregant illness or death, outside those hours, please call our office and follow the recording’s prompt.

  • When you arrive for your appointment at CBI, please be prepared to identify yourself at the door; once you do so, a member of our staff will let you into the building.
  • First time visitors to the CBI campus may wish to consult this guide, which includes in depth parking and building access instructions.
  • A large print version is also available.

The Jennifer Barnum Luria Early Childhood Center

If you are interested in exploring our full time, year round early childhood center, The Jennie, we would love to show you around. Please call 503-447-2457 to set up a tour.

  • When you arrive at The Jennie, whether for a tour or to pick up or drop a student, a member of staff will need to confirm your identity before letting you into the building.
  • We have compiled information for first time visitors, including parking and building instructions, to make your visit a little smoother.

Parking

Parking in our neighborhood is notoriously difficult, but we do have limited garage capacity, as well as a small outdoor lot.

Garage Parking

The entrance to our garage is on NW Flanders on the south side of the Schnitzer Family Center, just across from our domed Main Sanctuary.

  • Ring the bell at the clearly-marked garage call box and staff will admit you.
  • You will need to ring a second bell for entry to the building itself after you have parked.

Please note that parking in this small garage is extremely limited.

Outdoor Lot Parking

Additional parking is available in our lot at the corner of 19th Street and NW Flanders. From our lot, make your way to the brick building at 1972 NW Flanders, labeled the Schnitzer Family Center.

Ring the intercom on the right hand side of the glass doors to notify staff of your arrival.

During the High Holidays, and for occasional high traffic events, spots in these locations are reserved and you will need to arrange street parking. As parking in our urban neighborhood is often difficult, we encourage you to carpool, use public transportation, or ride shares. Please always be sure to lock your vehicle and take your belongings with you when visiting CBI.
