Mitzvah Day: Show Up, Pitch In, Make a Difference
Join us for Mitzvah Day, a community-wide morning of hands-on service rooted in tikkun olam (repairing the world) and tzedakah (justice and giving). We have projects for and impact from congregants of all ages: whether you’re one, one-hundred and one, or this is your chance to roll up your sleeves, support our Portland partners, and spend the day doing good together.
We’ll kick things off at 9:30 AM with a delicious breakfast (thank you, WRJ/Beth Israel Sisterhood!), then, well-fueled, we will head out to projects both on-site and around the community. From assembling hygiene kits, to preparing meals, to tending sacred spaces, or creating with our youngest volunteers, there’s a meaningful way for everyone to jump in.
This is a congregation-wide event and a Religious School day with family participation (no drop offs, please), so you can look forward to connecting with menches across the CBI community.
Ready to get started?
Want to do even more? We’re collecting laundry detergent for our neighbors at NW Tower—drop off during the week, on Sundays, or bring it with you on Mitzvah Day.
