Join Portland author and CBI congregant Barbara Gilford as she shares Heart Songs, a moving memoir inspired by a bundle of letters from family members lost in the Holocaust. Through their words, as well as and her own, Gilford traces her family’s story across Europe, honoring those who perished and the father who survived.
Drawing on her background as a journalist and psychotherapist, Gilford also reflects on the lasting impact of trauma and the resilience carried by the second generation. This program offers both a deeply personal story and a thoughtful exploration of memory, loss, and legacy.
