Kol Halev: the Installation of Senior Cantor Rayna Green
A Weekend of Connection, Celebration, and Song…
With one joyful voice our Congregation Beth Israel community gathers to celebrate the installation of Cantor Rayna Green as our new Senior Cantor. This milestone marks both a new chapter in CBI’s musical and spiritual life and a joyful continuation of our community’s rich cantorial tradition.
Throughout the weekend of November 14 and 15, we will lift our voices in song, prayer, and celebration. Friday evening’s Shabbat Service will include a ritual of installation led by Cantors Emeritae Judy Schiff and Ida Rae Cahana, alongside colleagues, mentors, and musicians who have inspired and shaped Cantor Green’s journey.
On Saturday evening the festivities continue with a celebratory concert featuring Cantor Green, Cantor Jennifer Frost, Cantor Dave Malecki, Cantor Eyal Bitton, Artist-in-Residence Kim Schneiderman, members of the CBI House Band, Llama Lo?, and guests from the Portland musical community. An encore reception will follow, as we gather to honor Cantor Green’s leadership, artistry, and heart, and the next verse in our community’s ongoing song.
Please look over the schedule of celebrations below and take a moment to let us know if you are able to join us.
