Jews Next Dor (20s-30s)

Welcome to Jews Next Dor

Looking to connect with some Jews your age?

New to the Jewish scene in Portland?

Jews Next Dor (JND), Congregation Beth Israel’s group for 20/30-somethings, is for you!

Operating under Portland’s largest Reform synagogue, JND creates opportunities for the young adults of Portland’s Jewish community to come together in a relaxed and open environment. Offering both spiritual and social events, JND is excited to be back in action after our Covid-19 hiatus.

If you would like to be added to our mailing list, click the button and let us know (we only send out one-two emails a month). If you haven’t already, join us on Facebook so, you can see upcoming events and get invited to any ad-hoc gatherings! You do not need to be a member of Congregation Beth Israel (or of any synagogue, for that matter) to participate.

Coming Soon

JND brings the Portland Jewish community monthly opportunities to socialize and connect. Please mark your calendars for these upcoming events. We’d also love YOUR input for future gatherings, so please take a minute to fill out this brief survey. We are finalizing our fall schedule, so keep an eye on this space!

Past JND Events

We marked our return with our JND Chanukah Kickoff in December 2022, gathered for CBI’s Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Shabbat Service in January, ShabBrunch in February, and shook our groggers at a Purim Schpiel and Sip. For Passover, we partnered with Mittleman Jewish Community Center, Congregation Neveh Shalom, Congregation Shaari Torah, Moish Pod, Moishe House, and OnceTable for the PDX Young Adult Seder on the CBI Campus. In May, as part of Mitzvah Day at CBI, we volunteered with with the Cascadia Cluster group to build cedar planter boxes as part of their efforts to build and operate the first sober living tiny home village in Portland. Summer started with the first Shabbat on the Plaza–after which we cheered on the Thorns at Providence Park!
