It may be hard to believe in the midst of the winter rains, but summer is coming, which means it’s time to pack up the sunscreen, sleeping bags, and Shabbat clothes and plan how to get the 180 miles from Portland (or thereabouts) to Camp Kalsman…
This year, we hope to make that trip a little bit easier (and give Kalsman parents a summer break of their own!) by either providing bus service from Congregation Beth Israel (1972 NW Flanders Street in downtown Portland) to camp, or by connecting camp families to facilitate arranging carpools (camp-pools?) to and from Kalsman.
Please fill out the brief survey below, so we know who’s interested!
Congregation Beth Israel Members: remember, thanks to the Anese and Bernard Klein URJ Camp Scholarship Fund, we are able to offer a $1,000 scholarship to first-time campers and a $600 scholarship to all returning ones for ANY URJ Summer Camp Program (including Kalsman). If you have not done so already, please reach out to Education Director Ben Sandler if you are interested in recieving scholarship support.
If you have any questions about transport to and from Camp Kalsman, or about life at camp in general, please click here to get in touch with Jena Whitesman, Camp Kalsman’s Assistant Director.
