Whether it is your first time celebrating Passover or your 50th, there may be questions abound! You may find yourself asking, “what was that 6th item that goes on the seder plate?” “can I eat beans and rice?” or even, “how do I keep my 3-year-old niece engaged during the Seder?” Maybe this is the year you try a new haggadah or recipe. Second Night of Passover

Community Seder | via Zoom – Sunday, March 28 at 4:00 PM
Your CBI clergy lead a community Seder on the second night of Passover. This free Seder may be socially distanced, but it will still provide ample ways for community members to celebrate, connect, and be together.

Third Night of Passover

Adult Education Presents: The Story of the Haggadah | via ZoomMonday, March 29 at 12:00 PM
Join Rabbi Cahana for a Passover Lunch and Learn (you provide the lunch; we provide the learning), brought to you by CBI’s Adult Education Committee. Rabbi Cahana will discuss this essential element of the holiday. A Q&A will follow.

Fifth Night of Passover

Dor Chadash Matzah Pizza | via ZoomWednesday, March 31 at 5:00 PM
Who likes pizza? Everyone! Who’s hanging out on Zoom making pizza? Dor Chadash. Sixth and seventh graders are invited to pick up a chef’s kit (with some special extra goodies) and to make a personal Passover pizza with their friends at Dor Chadash. Boxes are currently sold out but you’re welcome to join us for the zoom! Email Chelsea with any questions.

Sixth Night of Passover

Women’s Seder | via ZoomThursday, April 1 at 6:00 PM
All CBI members who identify as women are invited to gather for this joyful and moving Seder experience. Those who wish for a more immersive (and tasty!) experience may purchase a Seder kit for $36. These boxes are curated by Jacob and Sons, the innovative supper club behind our hit Taste of Temple, so be sure to reserve yours by March 15. Seventh Night of Passover

Musical Shabbat Evening Service | via ZoomFriday, April 2 at 6:00 PM
The CBI clergy and community welcome special musical guests for this Passover Shabbat celebration.

Eighth Night of Passover

Passover Family Shabbat Experience | In-Person – Saturday, April 3 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Sign up in advance for a socially distanced Passover celebration with music and stories for our community’s young families. Limited slots are available for this in-person experience, and as Covid-19 restrictions and developments change, the specifics of the event may as well. What we do know that Rabbi Joseph, Cantor Green, Kim Schniderman, and Ben Sandler will be smiling in their masks and can’t wait to see you! Please click here to sign up.

Due to social distancing protocols and best practices, attendance at this event is limited. As you sign up, please include EVERY member of our household who will be in attendance. Masks and social distancing measures will be required for the full duration of the program.

PARTY Passover Event | via ZoomSaturday, April 3 at 8:00 PM
Cantor Green invites all eighth through twelfth graders to a Passover experience designed just for PARTY (Portland Area Temple Youth). Commemorate the end of Passover with some matzah cooking led by our teen board and some Passover discussion led by Cantor Green. Please note the date change (previously March 30).
